About the venue

St. Anna is a late-Gothic church in Augsburg's old town, originally built as a Carmelite monastery church in the 14th century. It gained historical fame as the place where Martin Luther stayed during his 1518 hearing before Cardinal Cajetan. The Fugger burial chapel inside, added in the early 16th century, is considered one of the earliest Renaissance interiors in Germany.
