Anne Frank was a German-Dutch Jewish girl who hid with her family in Amsterdam during World War II to escape Nazi persecution. Her diary, published after the war by her father Otto Frank, became one of the most widely read accounts of the Holocaust. Anne died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945.
