Pharoah Sanders was an American tenor saxophonist and a central figure in spiritual jazz. He rose to prominence through his collaboration with John Coltrane and was known for his intense, deeply expressive sound that drew on musical traditions from around the world. His album „Karma" (1969) is a landmark of avant-garde jazz. He died in 2022.
