Tabu Ley Rochereau was a Congolese singer, composer and guitarist, one of the most influential figures in African popular music of the 20th century. He was a pioneer of soukous and rumba congolaise, with a career spanning over five decades. He co-founded the group African Fiesta and recorded hundreds of songs that shaped musicians across Africa and beyond.
