Michaelsteiner Klosterkonzert I - Flowering in the East

Kloster Michaelstein in Blankenburg will host the European Union Baroque Orchestra on Thursday, 10 September 2026 at 19:30. Conducted by Judith Steenbrink, the ensemble will perform works inspired by Polish and Hanacian folk music that Georg Philipp Telemann encountered during his time in Silesia and Kraków. This is one of two German dates for the orchestra this season. The monastery, a former Cistercian foundation from the 12th century, now serves as a centre for music education and a museum of historical instruments. Its halls regularly host concerts, and the acoustic properties of the spaces are well suited to Baroque performance. Admission: 17 €.
