FUTUROFONIA FESTIVAL - workshops for youth and adults
Opera Bałtycka w Gdańsku, Poland
Workshop: DIY - Noisebox
An electrotechnical workshop with sound artist Radek Sirko focused on transforming wooden and metal boxes into custom noise-making instruments. The work uses piezoelectric conductors, springs, nails, screws, music-box mechanisms, and other objects that set the boxes into resonance. Participants will learn the basics of soldering, prototyping, and building electronic circuits on breadboards, printed circuit boards, and using free-form techniques. The finished instruments will be routed through guitar effects and connected to a mixer.
The workshop is designed for beginners and requires no manual or technical skills - just an openness to experimentation.
Instructor: Dr. Radosław Sirko - sound artist, music producer, cultural theorist, and curator. He regularly leads sound workshops and releases albums on various formats. Director of the film Pogłos/Reverberation; as Duy Gebord he has performed at the Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Sacrum Profanum, and Cocart festivals. Member of the music-activist collective DESTITUTE and co-founder of the Sound Salon.
