Atom String Quartet / Atom Goes Funky
Nowa Miodowa, Warsaw, Poland
Iconic Polish Jazz vol. 91 - live in Warsaw for the first time!
Atom String Quartet presents a programme based on the album "Atom Goes Funky", released by Warner Music in the Polish Jazz series no. 91. The quartet draws from Polish jazz and rock music of the 1970s and 1980s (with a brief foray into the 1990s) - from compositions by Zbigniew Seifert, Krzesimir Dębski, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Michał Urbaniak, Władysław Sendecki, Andrzej Zaucha and Novi Singers, to the repertoire of Perfect and Kombi. The common thread of these works is the pulse, groove and sound of that era, translated into the language of a contemporary string quartet.
"Some of these pieces are the music of our childhood, some are hits we've long wanted to perform. We had great pleasure giving them a touch of our atomic style," say the musicians.
Performers:
Dawid Lubowicz - violin
Mateusz Smoczyński - violin
Michał Zaborski - viola
Krzysztof Lenczowski - cello
