Alberto Continentino
Klub Jassmine, Warsaw, Poland
Alberto Continentino is a bassist, composer, and producer central to contemporary Brazilian music. Raised in a musical family, he discovered the bass as a teenager and quickly became one of Brazil's most sought-after session musicians. At 20, he toured the world with Caetano Veloso - since then collaborating with Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, João Donato, Marcos Valle, Gal Costa, and from the younger generation with Ana Frango Elétrico, Baco Exu do Blues, and Dora Morelenbaum. For years he was also a member of the collective +2's, formed by Moreno Veloso, Domenico Lancellotti, and Kassin.
In June 2025, his third solo album was released - an experimental dreamy pop-jazz work based on poetry by Silvia Machete and Negro Leo, mixed by Kassin and Mario Caldato. On it, Alberto performs as a multi-instrumentalist (electric bass, synthesizers, vocals, arrangements, and production), with additional vocals from Nina Miranda and Gabriela Riley, among others.
