Anton Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard" directed by Nikolai Kolady is a performance about people who fear making decisions, hide from problems, and passively accept the blows of fate - rather than fight back.

In this staging, the cherry orchard is long gone. Everything has been sold, everything destroyed, and in place of the white blossoms remain only plastic cups - a symbol of artificial materials destroying nature. A new owner appears: cruel and arrogant, who takes the orchard only to cut it down and build summer cottages. In the finale, a hurricane sweeps away and destroys everything. On the wasteland where life once flourished, where people loved and lived, only an insect remains - a cockroach or a lizard - the sole witness to the devastation we have left behind.
