Room in Bloom vol. 11 Norwid/Andrzej Chyra

"Room in Bloom" returns with its eleventh edition of intimate concerts in the home of Maciej Kądziela and Kasia Pietrzko - and this will also be the final event of the cycle in this domestic space. This does not mark the end of the project: "Room in Bloom" will continue in new venues and new artistic incarnations.

The star of the final home concert is "Projekt Norwid" - an encounter between the poetry of Cyprian Kamil Norwid and jazz and improvised music. The poet's verses are recited by Andrzej Chyra, accompanied by Kasia Pietrzko Trio and Maciej Kądziela. Word and music function here on equal terms: improvisation engages in a living dialogue with poetry, elaborating on and commenting upon its meanings. Each performance is created in real time - between the actor's voice and the sound of piano, saxophone, double bass, and drums.

The project has been presented at, among other venues, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw and the National Music Forum in Wrocław. On September 4th it will be heard in its most intimate form - in the place where the idea of "Room in Bloom" was born.

Performers:
Andrzej Chyra - film and theatre actor. Kasia Pietrzko - pianist, composer and arranger, leader of Kasia Pietrzko Trio, whose albums are released in the Polish Jazz series. Maciej Kądziela - alto saxophonist, improviser and composer. Andrzej Święs - double bassist, bass guitarist, composer and pedagogue. Piotr Budniak - drummer, laureate of Polish jazz competitions, leader of Piotr Budniak Essential Group, lecturer at UMCS in Lublin.
