Miejski Ośrodek Kultury w Nowym Targu, Nowy Targ, Poland
PLUNSY - the closing concert of the 22nd Summer Philharmonia AUKSO: Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa and AUKSO - Chamber Orchestra of Tychy conducted by Marek Mosia. The programme features traditional folk music in arrangements by contemporary Polish composers.
Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa was founded in Warsaw in 1997 under the name "Kapela ze Wsi". In March 1998, the ensemble placed second in the Radio Folk Music Competition "Nowa Tradycja" and won the audience award. Since 2000, the group has performed regularly throughout Western Europe - their performance at the Tanz & Folk Fest Rudolstadt was recognized by Folk World magazine as the second-best folk performance of that year. In the ensemble's repertoire, traditional folk music - mazurkas, obereks - blends with contemporary sounds and instruments.
AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of Tychy, conducted by Marek Mosia, was founded by graduates of the Music Academy in Katowice together with Marek Mosia - a violinist, conductor, and chamber musician. The orchestra's name comes from Greek and means "growth". The ensemble works in a permanent lineup and develops both classical repertoire and projects created in collaboration with artists from various fields of music and art.
