The Merry Widow

Arte Creatura Teatr Muzyczny presents "The Merry Widow" by Franz Lehár – an operetta from 1905, recognized as a masterpiece of the genre and one of the most frequently performed operettas in the world. The performance takes place on 25 October 2026 at 17:00 in the Municipal House of Culture in Stalowa Wola.
The titular heroine, young Hanna Glawari, was widowed just eight days after marrying a wealthy banker from the principality of Pontevedro. Her enormous fortune attracts the attention of the finance minister himself, who instructs his subordinates to ensure the widow does not marry a foreigner. In Paris, Hanna meets her former love – Count Danilo – and their feelings are once again thwarted by pride and circumstance. The performance is filled with operetta hits, including "Lips Remain Silent, the Soul Sings!" and "Oh, Women!".
The stage will feature soloists from international musical stages and winners of vocal competitions. In the leading roles: Maria Hubluk (Hanna Glawari), Paweł Piotrowski (Count Danilo Danilowitsch), Wioletta Liber (Valencienne), Jarosław Wewióra (Camille de Rosillon), Adam Żaak (Baron Mirko Zeta), Grzegorz Biernacki (Vicomte Cascada), Paweł Soduła (Raoul de St. Brioche), Marcin Konopacki (Bogdanowitsch), Grażyna Bieniek-Żaak (Sylviane), Monika Mazur / Aleksandra Rusek (Olga), Agnieszka Styblińska-Elbin / Roksana Wiercigroch (Praskowia), Piotr Rybak / Marcin Włosinski (Njegus). The soloists are accompanied by the Arte Creatura Theatre Orchestra under the direction of Marek Kudra / Maciej Perzanowski. Direction and choreography: Anna Siwczyk.
