About: Krzysztof Penderecki

One of the defining composers of the 20th century, Penderecki built his reputation on shattering orchestral conventions - from the visceral string clusters of the Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima to the sweeping choral architecture of the Polish Requiem. His catalogue spans five operas, eight symphonies and sacred works that remain cornerstones of the modern concert repertoire.
