The Golden Bridge
Kino Odra w Brzegu Dolnym, Brzeg Dolny, Poland
"The Golden Bridge" draws inspiration from classical literature – the tale of Psyche and Cupid from Apuleius's Metamorphoses – and from local legends: the story of Świny Castle and tales of Adelunde. Jacek Wilantewicz creates a world where tradition meets imagination, and each scene takes the form of a fairy-tale miniature.
Handmade puppets come to life on stage. Among the main characters are mythical figures, guides, and good spirits who lead audiences into a universe where time flows unpredictably: a minute can turn into an hour, a day into night, and the ordinary order of things is turned upside down. A princess waits in a golden cage, a king searches for his little ones, and the main heroes strive to restore the natural flow of time.
The performance tells a story of love, courage, and friendship. The titular golden bridge – a symbol of change, hope, and passage – guides audiences through a world where magic mingles with everyday life.
