SIERGIEJ WOWKOTRUB GYPSY SWING QUARTET

The Siergiej Wowkotrub Gypsy Swing Quartet is an ensemble founded in 2011 by Siergiej Wowkotrub, a virtuoso violinist from Ukraine who has lived in Poland since 1992 and is currently the concertmaster and first violinist of the Częstochowa Philharmonic. The quartet's repertoire features gypsy swing standards inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, as well as arrangements of popular hits from entertainment and film music.

Wowkotrub is accompanied on stage by Sebastian Ruciński (guitar), Tomasz Wójcik (guitar), and Piotr Górka (double bass) – all graduates of the Jazz Institute at the Academy of Music in Katowice, who regularly collaborate with stars of the Polish music scene.
