Kayah: JAZZAYAH

Jazzayah presents Kayah's most famous hits in completely new, exceptional jazz arrangements, along with her original songs that have always carried jazz potential and now have found new life.

The programme will also feature well-known jazz standards, not only American ones, because Poland too boasts beautiful jazz evergreens that Kayah loves most.

The band will include outstanding artists from the jazz scene — Jan Smoczyński, pianist, composer, and music producer of many of her projects, rooted in the jazz world but with very broad musical interests, allowing him to create refined cross-genre musical collages. The rhythm section comprises absolutely world-class musicians who have long been pillars of top ensembles (including Marcin Wasilewski Trio, Tomasz Stańko, Aga Zaryan, Piotr Wojtasik): Michał Barański and Michał Miśkiewicz. Both possess a unique sound, and their involvement in the project always guarantees a breath of freshness and promises an encounter with refined music, where emphasis on tone, rhythmic resilience, and musicality form the foundation upon which they weave beautiful stories. As always, Kayah will be accompanied vocally by her long-time backing vocalist — Iwona Zasuwa — who has shared the stage with her for 25 years.

She released her debut solo album "Kamień" in 1995 and to date has released 11 albums (Kamień, Zebra, Kayah i Bregovic, Jaka Ja Kayah, StereoTyp, The Best & the Rest, MTV Unplugged, Skała, Kayah & Royal Quartet, Transoriental Orchestra, and the Christmas album "Gdy pada śnieg").
