About: Johannes Brahms

Born in Hamburg in 1833, Brahms settled in Vienna and became the defining voice of late-Romantic German music - a composer who never wrote an opera yet conquered every other major genre, from the symphony to the intimate piano intermezzo. His works have been performed without interruption on the world's great stages for over 150 years.
