A Fork in the Head — Teatr Kamienica, Warsaw

What can happen when three women in a small provincial house devise the perfect plan to recover an estate lost in cards by their late husband?
So begins the play directed by Tomasz Sapryk, titled "A Fork in the Head", which crowns 50 years of artistic work by Elżbieta Jarosik. Her masterfully performed Teresa – a housewife who will stop at nothing to achieve her goal – will make you laugh to tears, at times frighten, surprise and move you.
Together with two daughters: Paulina (Katarzyna Maciąg / Andżelika Piechowiak) – a local librarian, an idealist with complexes and a frustrated spinster rolled into one, and Ewa (Anna Jarosik / Milena Suszyńska) – a sophisticated femme fatale, arrogant and conceited, who is almost a mirror image of her mother, they create a trio you won't soon forget. Among these spirited women, their neighbour Witek (Kamil Kula / Mikołaj Roznerski) – a shy mechanic, lost in a maze of intrigues and lies of quarrelling women – will try to somehow survive. And in the background: a father's funeral, gambling debts, a long-standing conflict between sisters, the theft of a husband before the altar, and… a fork that certainly does not serve its typical culinary purpose.
