The Game for a House
Teatr Kamienica, Warsaw, Poland

A fashionable and comfortable apartment in the "Golden Fish" housing estate is a ticket to a coveted world and the dream of the whole family. Well, almost the whole family. For an average married couple – Irenka (Izabela Dąbrowska) and Marek (Michał Czernecki) – and their children, activist Basia (Karolina Charkiewicz) and life's ignoramus Kuba (Marcin Stępniak / Jędrzej Wielecki) – it is not just square metres, but also a ticket to the upper class. To win such a house, they must simply be perfect – beautiful, wealthy, talented, and subtly intelligent.
The family enters the game with full force, including grandmother (Małgorzata Rożniatowska / Ewa Ziętek / Maria Ciunelis), who, although she sees that her children and grandchildren are morally drowning, for their happiness – and probably a piece of the terrace – goes all in. And pulling the strings here is Cyber Woman (Olga Sarzyńska) – the embodiment of ruthless algorithms and a virtual critic. Will this aspiring family manage to convince the world that they deserve a life like a dream? Can the dream house actually enrich them?
This bitter comedy by Wawrzyniec Kostrzewski, praised by critics, exposes human desires and shows how far people can go in pretending to be someone they are not. See for yourself what a modern family is capable of when a dream house is at stake.
Enter the game and discover which houses happiness lives in.
The former title of the performance is "Family@ in the Net".
The premiere took place on 10 September 2024.
