CROWBAR | Wrocław
Zaklęte Rewiry, Wrocław, Poland
Heavy, slow, and packed with fat riffs on a summer evening? Sounds like the perfect plan, especially when it comes to a concert by sludge legend Crowbar, who are returning to Poland and will perform on July 31st at Zaklęte Rewiry in Wrocław.
Crowbar formed in 1990 from the ashes of The Slugs. With the release of their debut album "Obedience Thru Suffering," they pioneered the NOLA sludge genre. "This music is slow and fat" - that's how Beavis and Butt-Head commented on the sound of "Existence is Punishment" from the second album, produced by Phil Anselmo, and it's hard to find a better description of Kirk Windstein's band's work.
The New Orleans group has been guarding sludge metal for nearly 4 decades, and during that time musicians from Acid Bath, Pantera, and Black Label Society have passed through their ranks. Crowbar is a living brand of heavy music, strengthening its legend with each new album. Their concerts never disappoint, as you'll be able to confirm on the last day of July at Wrocław's Zaklęte Rewiry.
