Marcin Kydryński presents SIESTA on the Road: Pat Metheny SIDE EYE III+

Pat Metheny returns to Poland as part of the European Side-Eye III+ tour. Concerts take place in summer in Wrocław, Katowice, and Warsaw.

Side-Eye III+ is Metheny's own project, in which the guitarist invites young musicians into the ensemble, confronting his body of work with their energy and perspective. The format is deliberately live and open - each lineup brings something new to the artist's music.

Pat Metheny debuted on the world jazz scene in 1974, and his album Bright Size Life (1975) redefined the sound of jazz guitar. For decades he collaborated with Steve Reich, Herbie Hancock, and David Bowie, experimenting with technology - he was a pioneer in using synthesizers in jazz and co-created new types of guitars, including the 42-string Picasso guitar. He taught at the University of Miami and Berklee College of Music, where he received an honorary doctorate. He has won 20 Grammy Awards in various categories and three Gold Records. In 2015 he was inducted into the DownBeat Hall of Fame, and in 2018 he received the title of NEA Jazz Master.

The event takes place as part of the SIESTA on the Road series, moderated and artistically directed by Marcin Kydryński - a radio broadcaster, author, record producer, and co-organizer of the Siesta Festival in Gdańsk. The series has been produced by 4Music Booking & Management for over 10 years.
