Pat Metheny (born August 12, 1954, Lee's Summit, Missouri) is an American jazz guitarist and composer whose career spans more than five decades. He holds 20 Grammy Awards across 10 different categories - a record no other artist has matched - and has sold over 20 million records worldwide. With the Pat Metheny Group, founded in 1977, he built one of jazz's most devoted global followings, blending fusion, folk, Latin and orchestral textures while consistently championing younger musicians through projects like Side-Eye.
