Connie Han

American pianist and composer Connie Han is one of the most distinctive voices of jazz's younger generation. "Variety" magazine called her "one of the most talented and inventive artists in contemporary jazz," while "DownBeat" bestowed the title "Jazz Warrior Goddess," highlighting her virtuosity, energy, and stage charisma.

A Steinway Ambassador since 2019, Han forges her own musical language by blending classical technique with a bold approach to jazz. On her third album Secrets of Inanna (Mack Avenue Records), she creates a musical portrait of Inanna - the ancient Sumerian goddess of love, beauty, and war. The inspiration draws from the myth of her descent into the underworld, a symbolic journey toward transformation and rebirth as Queen of Heaven and Earth.

During the Connie Han Trio concert, the artist presents her original compositions and personal interpretations of standards from the Great American Songbook, drawing from the traditions of jazz, improvised, and experimental music. In her work, Han remains true to Gustav Mahler's philosophy: "Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire."
