Chopin Concert in Darkness

Chopin Concert in Darkness is an approximately 70-minute piano recital during which each participant receives an eye mask - to focus exclusively on music, without screens and distractions. Wearing the mask is voluntary; subtle lighting illuminates the piano and pianist on stage, so everyone decides for themselves how they wish to listen.

The programme includes, among others: Fantaisie-Impromptu op. 66, Waltz in D-flat major "Minute Waltz" op. 64 no. 1, Waltz in C-sharp minor op. 64 no. 2, Nocturne in E-flat major op. 9 no. 2, Nocturne in C-sharp minor (posthumous work), Prelude in D-flat major op. 28 no. 15 "Raindrop", Prelude in E minor op. 28 no. 4, Polonaise in A major op. 40 no. 1 "Military", Polonaise in A-flat major op. 53 "Heroic", Mazurka in A minor op. 17 no. 4, Mazurka in B major op. 7 no. 1, and excerpts from Scherzo in B minor, Ballade in G minor, and Andante Spianato. The programme may differ slightly from the listed repertoire.

The concerts are performed by pianists of the young and middle generations - laureates of national and international competitions (including in Berlin and Munich), graduates and students of leading music universities in Poland and Europe, who regularly perform at home and abroad, including at festivals and institutions connected with Chopin's heritage. The lineup of performers depends on the date and availability of the artists.
