Giovanni Petrone is an organist, harpsichordist, conductor, and composer. He won first prize at the Agati-Tronci International Organ Competition in Pistoia, second prize ex aequo (first prize not awarded) at the International Organ Competition in Fano Adriano (Teramo), and second prize at the Camponeschi-Carafa Competition in Montorio al Vomano (Teramo). He graduated with distinction from the "L. Perosi" Conservatory in Campobasso in organ and harpsichord.
He completed postgraduate studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and a two-year organ course with Prof. Francesco Di Lernii. He studied choral conducting and choral composition at the "L. Refice" Conservatory in Frosinone. He has performed as an organist and choral conductor in Austria, Switzerland, France, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Portugal, and numerous Italian cities including Rome, Adria, Rovigo, Pesaro, Urbino, Padua, Costiere, Pescara, Foggia, Lecce, Bologna, and Campobasso.
