Amy (pronounced AH-MI) Gadiaga is a bassist, vocalist, and composer from the Paris suburbs, currently based in London. This is her return visit to Jassmine - last year's concert sold out completely, and now the artist is back with her new EP "BabyGoated".
Gadiaga is a graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she studied double bass and earned numerous accolades, including the Royal Philharmonic Society Award. This year she also received a nomination for Jazz Newcomer of the Year at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards.
Her playing draws from the tradition of old-school jazz - referencing musicians like Betty Carter and Wayne Shorter - blending it with her own musical voice.
