A meeting with three artists from the Polish urban contemporary art scene: SEPE, Fruit of the Lump, and Cekas. Each will discuss their work, experiences, and perspective on contemporary street art. Following the conversation, a film screening will take place as part of the Urban Art Area 6 series.
SEPE (born Michał Wręga, 1982 in Warsaw) - involved in street art since 1996. Graduate of the Faculty of Landscape Architecture at SGGW in Warsaw and the Faculty of Graphics and Painting at ASP in Łódź. He has created murals in dozens of countries across several continents, including Albania, England, Armenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Philippines, France, Georgia, Greece, Spain, Indonesia, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg, Mongolia, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and the USA. He has participated in festivals such as Art Basel Miami, Artmossphere in Moscow, District Walls in Washington, Memorie Urbane in Italy, and Urban Nation in Berlin. His studio paintings have been exhibited at the Museum For Urban Contemporary Art in Berlin, Varsi Gallery in Rome, Rhodes Contemporary Art in London, Soon Gallery in Zurich, Brain Damage Gallery in Lublin, and Leonarda Art Gallery in Warsaw. He works at the intersection of street art and studio painting. He lives and works in Piaseczno as an illustrator and painter/muralist.
Fruit of the Lump / LUMP (born Piotr Pauk) - graduate of the Poznań University of the Arts, founder of FREEDOM Gallery, associated with the Up/Side Art Foundation. He comes from the Szczecin graffiti scene. In his practice, he combines urban art with guerrilla actions in urban space: adbusting, architectural disruptions, and in situ installations. His works have been exhibited in Poland and in Spain, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Ukraine, Sweden, Indonesia, and France. He is the author of projects OD/Blocking - Muralization Action, Fruit of the Lump / Analog recovery 1984, and QRWO the Zerwane Films.
