About the venue

Muzeum Śląskie (Silesian Museum) in Katowice is one of the largest museums in Poland, reopened in 2015 in a striking modern complex built largely underground on the site of the former Katowice coal mine. Its permanent collections cover Silesian art, history, and culture, while the preserved mine shaft towers serve as iconic landmarks above ground. The museum regularly hosts temporary exhibitions, cultural events, and educational programmes.
