Vienna, Austria
The Gasometer in Vienna is a complex of four former gas storage towers built in 1896-99, converted in 2001 into a mixed-use urban quarter with apartments, offices, a shopping mall and a concert hall. The cylindrical brick shells - each around 70 metres tall - were listed as protected monuments before the conversion. The Gasometer B hall regularly hosts large concerts, club nights and other live events.
