About

Canadian Brass is a brass quintet founded in Toronto in 1970 by tubist Charles Daellenbach and trombonist Gene Watts, and widely regarded as the ensemble that put the brass quintet on the map as a serious concert format. Over more than five decades they have released over 170 recordings, performed at Carnegie Hall, and toured across six continents - all while keeping their trademark mix of virtuosity and on-stage humor. Their signature look - black formal suits paired with white running shoes - is as recognizable as their sound.
