DJ Ötzi is the stage name of Gerry Friedle (born 7 January 1971 in St. Johann, Tyrol, Austria), a singer and entertainer who became a household name across German-speaking Europe around the turn of the millennium. His 1999 hit "Anton aus Tirol" spent 75 weeks in the Austrian charts, and the 2000 cover "Hey Baby (Uhh, Ahh)" reached number one in the UK, Ireland, and Australia - making him the first Austrian artist to earn gold and platinum in England. His 2007 duet with Nik P., "Ein Stern (...der deinen Namen trägt)", held the top spot in Germany for 13 weeks and became the longest-running single in the history of the German Singles Chart.
