About

The Glenn Miller Orchestra is a big band carrying on the legacy of American trombonist and bandleader Glenn Miller, whose original ensemble became the most commercially successful dance orchestra of the swing era before Miller disappeared over the English Channel in December 1944. The current revival orchestra was formed on June 6, 1956, under drummer Ray McKinley, and has toured continuously ever since - averaging around 300 live dates a year. For the European touring version, longtime trombonist Uli Plettendorff took over as bandleader in 2024, succeeding Wil Salden who had led the ensemble for over 40 years and more than 5,200 concerts across Europe.
