About

Gorillaz is a British virtual band created in 1998 by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett, built around four animated characters - 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs. The project blends alternative rock, hip-hop, electronic music and pop through an ever-changing roster of collaborators, and holds the Guinness World Record as the most successful virtual act in history. Their debut album (2001) and Demon Days (2005) are landmarks of the era; nine studio albums in, they remain one of the most inventive acts in contemporary music.
