About

Jeremy Pelt (born November 4, 1976, in California) is a New York-based jazz trumpeter, composer, and bandleader who has recorded over 26 albums as a leader, primarily for HighNote Records. He trained at Berklee College of Music and built his reputation through the Mingus Big Band before going on to collaborate with Ravi Coltrane, Roy Hargrove, Cedar Walton, and Cassandra Wilson, among others. JazzTimes has called him a "technical marvel," and the Jazz Journalists Association named him Trumpeter of the Year in 2023. His recent output - Woven (2025) and Our Community Will Not Be Erased (2026) - shows a voice that moves freely between hard bop, electronics, and post-bop lyricism.
