Jovanotti, born Lorenzo Cherubini in Rome on 27 September 1966, is an Italian singer-songwriter, rapper and DJ who started out spinning records on Radio DeeJay before building one of the most enduring careers in Italian pop. Over nearly four decades he has moved from hip-hop and disco through funk, world music and electronic sounds, all while becoming a fixture of the Italian cantautore tradition with socially engaged lyrics. His discography spans eighteen studio albums and dozens of chart-topping singles, and he has collaborated with artists ranging from Rick Rubin to Ben Harper.
Jovanotti was awarded the Commander Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by President Sergio Mattarella on 30 January 2026.
Jovanotti released his studio album 'Il corpo umano vol. 1' on 31 January 2025, his first full record since the 2022 'Il disco del Sole'.
The PalaJova 2025 arena tour launched on 4 March 2025 in Pesaro, marking Jovanotti's first indoor tour in seven years.
Due to overwhelming demand, Jovanotti added eight new PalaJova 2025 dates in December 2024, bringing the total sold-out count to twenty shows.
Jovanotti announced his comeback album with the lead single 'Montecristo' in November 2024.
