About

Zucchero, born Adelmo Fornaciari on 25 September 1955 in Roncocesi near Reggio Emilia, is an Italian singer-songwriter widely credited as the "father of Italian blues" for bringing the genre to mainstream stages in Italy. His music draws on gospel, soul, blues and rock, and over a four-decade career he has sold more than 60 million records worldwide, collaborating with artists ranging from Miles Davis and Eric Clapton to Bono and Luciano Pavarotti. Internationally he is best known for "Senza una donna" (with Paul Young), "Diamante" and "Baila (Sexy Thing)", and he remains one of the very few European blues artists to sustain genuine global success.
