About

Kangding Ray is the alias of French producer and DJ David Letellier (born 1978), based in Berlin since the early 2000s. Trained as an architect in Rennes, he pivoted to electronic music after arriving in Berlin and built a reputation across Raster-Noton and Stroboscopic Artefacts before founding his own label ara in 2019. His sound moves between dense techno and ambient sound design, equally at home in a club and a gallery. In 2025 he crossed into film scoring with Sirāt (dir. Óliver Laxe), winning the Cannes Soundtrack Award and the Goya for Best Original Score.
