About

Kelela Mizanekristos is a Washington D.C.-born, second-generation Ethiopian-American singer who blends R&B with club-rooted electronic music. She broke through with her 2013 mixtape Cut 4 Me, then signed to Warp Records for the Hallucinogen EP (2015) and her widely acclaimed debut album Take Me Apart (2017). After a five-year gap, she returned with Raven (2023), hailed by Pitchfork, Billboard and Variety as one of the best albums of that year, and followed it in July 2026 with her third studio album new avatar.
