Hamburger Orgelsommer 2026
Hamburg's summer organ festival featuring classical music concerts on historic instruments.
Magne H. Draagen (born 19 November 1974) is a Norwegian organist and cantor who has held leading positions at some of Scandinavia's most prominent churches. After completing a soloist diploma in organ at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, he served as cathedral cantor in Oslo and Stavanger (2003-2012), then as principal organist and cantor at Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim - Norway's national sanctuary - from 2012 to 2021. Since September 2021 he has been cantor and organist at Hauptkirche St. Michaelis in Hamburg, one of northern Germany's most iconic baroque churches. He is also active as a composer and has released several recordings on the LAWO Classics label.
Draagen performed a joint organ concert with Tjark Pinne (Oslo Cathedral) at St. Michaelis Hamburg for the opening evening of the Hamburger Hafengeburtstag on 8 May 2026.
Draagen was invited to play at the restored Notre-Dame de Paris in April 2026, shortly after the cathedral reopened following its five-year restoration.
Draagen gave an organ recital at the Evangelische Kirche St. Pölten (Austria) as part of the 'klangräume' concert series in September 2025.
Draagen performed at the Hamburger Orgelsommer 2025 at St. Marien-Dom Hamburg on 14 August 2025, with works by Bach, Dupré and Scheidemann among others.
Draagen appeared as soloist at the opening concert of the Orgelfestival Ruhr in Duisburg in June 2025.
