Necrowretch is a French blackened death metal band from Valence, founded in 2008 by guitarist and vocalist Vlad. Starting out in the old-school death metal revival of the early 2010s, they signed first to Century Media and later to Season of Mist, steadily pushing their sound into darker, more black metal territory across five studio albums. Their 2024 record Swords of Dajjal - built around the Islamic eschatological figure of Al-Masih ad-Dajjal - is widely regarded as the most ambitious and best-produced work of their career.
Necrowretch are scheduled to perform at Motocultor Festival 2026 in Carhaix, France on August 15.
