Sepultura - Celebrating Life Through Death Tour
Legendary Brazilian metal band Sepultura brings their "Celebrating Life Through Death Tour" to Oberhausen.
Sepultura is a Brazilian heavy metal band founded in 1984 in Belo Horizonte by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera. Over four decades they released 15 studio albums and toured more than 80 countries, becoming the most internationally successful metal act ever to emerge from South America. Albums like Chaos A.D. (1993) and Roots (1996) - which wove indigenous Brazilian rhythms into thrash and groove metal - reshaped the genre and influenced a generation of bands. After announcing a farewell tour in December 2023 to mark their 40th anniversary, the band is disbanding in 2026 following a final show in São Paulo.
Sepultura announced their final-ever concert for November 7, 2026 at Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu in São Paulo, Brazil.
Sepultura released their final studio recording, the four-track EP 'The Cloud of Unknowing', via Nuclear Blast Records on April 24, 2026.
Sepultura announced their final European tour leg for summer 2026, running from June 6 in the Netherlands through August 9 in Dublin.
Drummer Eloy Casagrande left Sepultura just before the farewell tour began and was replaced by Greyson Nekrutman, formerly of Suicidal Tendencies.
Sepultura announced in December 2023 that they would embark on an 18-month global farewell tour titled 'Celebrating Life Through Death' to mark their 40th anniversary.
