Sven Regener (born 1961 in Bremen) is a German musician and writer who has led the Berlin band Element of Crime as its frontman, vocalist, trumpeter and chief lyricist since co-founding it in 1985. The band switched from English to German lyrics in the early 1990s and has since released 16 studio albums, becoming one of Germany's most enduring rock acts. Regener is equally known as a novelist: his debut 'Herr Lehmann' (2001), set in late-1980s West Berlin, sold around one million copies and was adapted into a successful film in 2003, for which Regener also wrote the screenplay.
