Colombian collective SYSTEMA SOLAR plays live at Gretchen, bringing a charged mix of cumbia, electronics and Afro-Caribbean rhythms to Berlin.
Systema Solar is a Colombian audiovisual collective from the Caribbean coast, active since 2006, that fuses traditional Afro-Caribbean rhythms - cumbia, champeta, bullerengue, fandango - with hip-hop, house and electronic production. Rooted in the culture of the Colombian picó sound system, the group coined their own aesthetic concept, "berbenautika", blending popular street parties with a futurist visual universe. They are widely regarded as pioneers of the tropical bass and electro-cumbia scene in Latin America, and have played major festivals including Glastonbury, Roskilde, Lollapalooza and Couleur Café.
Systema Solar released their fourth studio album FUTURX PRIMITIVX 20|25 on May 15, 2025 - their first full-length record since Rumbo a Tierra in 2017/2018.
The collective launched a European tour leg in June 2025, covering Spain, the UK, France, Portugal and Switzerland.
Systema Solar performed a special album-launch concert titled 'El Origen' at the Teatro Colón in Bogotá on June 7, 2025, combining live music, visual projections and multidisciplinary staging.
The lead single 'Futuro Primitivo' was released in March 2025, described by vocalist Jhonpri as representing "Caribbean Colombian rap".
Systema Solar performed at Future Yard in Birkenhead, UK in July 2025, drawing strong reviews for their live energy and audiovisual show.
