Tha Playah is the stage name of Jim Hermsen (born 23 June 1982 in Nijmegen, Netherlands), a Dutch hardcore DJ and producer who has been a fixture on Neophyte Records since his debut EP 'Hit 'Em' in 2002. Over two decades he built a reputation for a raw, uncompromising sound that spans classic gabber and nu-style hardcore, with albums such as 'The Greatest Clits' (2006) and 'Walking the Line' (2009) cementing his status as one of the genre's most influential producers. He is a regular headliner at Europe's biggest hardcore events - Thunderdome, Defqon.1, Masters of Hardcore - and in 2025 co-wrote the official Thunderdome anthem 'Move As One' with Nosferatu.
