Gustav Mahler was never content with the here and now. His Second Symphony is a work of the great questions - about life and death, finitude and hope, form and ecstasy. It calls for a choir, two soloists, and a vast orchestra. In Mahler's own words: "O believe, you were not born in vain! You have not lived and suffered in vain! What came into being must pass away! What has passed will rise again! Stop trembling! Prepare yourself to live!"

Daniel Geiss - a student of Menahem Pressler and, since 2023, chief conductor of the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie - brings this vision to life. With an orchestra that has called a Gothic brick church home for 25 years.
