by Magda Woitzuck
Kassandra, daughter of the Trojan king Priamos, is known as the "Eye of Troy" for her wisdom and is said to foresee the future through the gift of clairvoyance. After spending time outside the palace walls, she sees what her family refuses to acknowledge: droughts, hunger, and injustice. Back in the palace, Priamos dismisses her warnings of an impending war - until the fall of Troy is long since sealed.
Magda Woitzuck retells the story of the Iliad from the perspective of women, turning the focus onto the consequences of human and political decisions. The Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen presents the play as its German premiere.
At 19:00, an introduction to the play will take place in the small hall.
Subscription theatre. General sale: 18 € to 27 €. Pupils, apprentices, and students pay 8 €.
