Gumbert - a spookily humorous tour of Limburg
Klosterruine Limburg, Bad Dürkheim, Germany
Abbot Gumbert - builder of Speyer Cathedral and the Limburg monastery - leads visitors through the secrets of the monastery ruins and the courtly intrigues at the court of King Conrad II. By his side: Queen Gunhild, daughter of King Cnut of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and England. The tour is eerie, humorous - and promises neither dry eyes nor dry throats.
Included are five wines chosen to reflect the architecture and history of Limburg, along with historical medieval music that isn't always pious.
Ages 16 and up. Group size: minimum 10, maximum 30 people (individual guests and small groups of up to 6 are welcome). Registration required by Friday at 16:00 before the respective date. If too few participants sign up, the event may be cancelled.
