I See Your Joke - Comedy with Sign Language

Laughter speaks every language - and today, two at once!

At our special comedy evening, the stage will feature not only brilliant performers but also two sign language interpreters who will translate every spoken word into the vibrant world of sign language. This creates a show where humor is both heard and seen.

This new project invites us to experiment with sign language in the theatre world, to rediscover it, and to establish it as a natural part of cultural events. Through shared art, shared laughter, and new forms of communication, we want to experience how enriching an open cultural space for everyone can be.

And because this is comedy, of course: humor is explicitly permitted - and even recommended! Comedy is a performing art that touches us emotionally, makes everyday life feel lighter for a moment, and lets us laugh together. As a bonus, laughter also releases happiness hormones - a side effect we're very happy to accept.

So look forward to an evening that connects, inspires, and above all does one thing: laugh together - with words, with hands, and with all our hearts.

Our guest for the first show is Stuttgart's magic world champion and comedian Thomas Fröschle, known as TOPAS. Our partners in this project are sign language interpreters Rita Mohlau and Selin Türk.
