Mendelssohn's "Te Deum" for eight vocalists and eight-part choir (with organ accompaniment) alternates between chamber passages and powerful tutti sections - a still little-known work that here in Mendelssohn's city Leipzig reaches a broader audience. Toshio Hosokawa's "Kuraki yori (From Darkness)" for eight vocal soloists, composed after a Japanese poem from the 10th century, showcases the rich sonic palette of a project ensemble like the Kammerchor Stuttgart.
