POEMS ON THE ROCKS is a Stuttgart-based band that in 2004 became one of the first in Germany to introduce a distinctive concept: rock music with German translations of English-language rock songs - including their often cryptic meanings. Actor JO JUNG, known as the voice of numerous ZDF, ARTE and SWR productions, translates always close to the heart of the songs in lyrical form, shaping the texts with expressive mime and delivery into his own recitations.

Singer JÖRG KRAUSS and four professional musicians then breathe life into the recited words through the original songs: CHRISTOPH BERNER (guitar), ANDY KEMMER (bass & vocals), HELMUT KIPP (drums) and EDGAR MÜLLER (keyboards & vocals). Video artist KARSTEN HOPPE provides the accompanying visual show.

For their anniversary year 2024, the band presents their 5th journey through time - four of which are already documented on CD. The new programme draws deeply from rock history: CSN, Neil Young, David Bowie, The Beatles, Nick Kershaw, Sting, Peter Gabriel and Pink Floyd feature on the repertoire.
